Privacy Policy

Paraflow is designed from the ground up for private, offline speech-to-text dictation. This policy describes how our Android application handles your information.

1. Offline processing

Your voice and text never leave your device.

Paraflow downloads its public speech-recognition models from Hugging Face during your initial setup. After installation, all speech-to-text recognition runs entirely on your device. Audio and transcribed texts are never sent to Paraflow, Hugging Face, or any cloud services.

2. Permissions and system access

To enable cross-app dictation and device support, the App requests specific system permissions. We use these permissions strictly to provide local functionality:

Microphone Access

Captures audio only while you dictate. Audio is processed in temporary memory and immediately discarded after transcription.

Accessibility Service

Used strictly to detect text inputs, display the floating dictation button, and paste transcribed text at your cursor position.

Battery Optimization

Exempts the app from background limits to ensure that the floating trigger button remains active and responsive when needed.

Network & Internet

Used only to download the initial public language model files from Hugging Face. No voice data or transcription history is included.

3. Local history

Your transcription history is saved exclusively within the App's private local database on your device. You can view, search, copy, or purge your history at any time from the **Usage** tab. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of this local database state.

4. No tracking or sharing

Optional translation services rely on Google ML Kit local packages. Optional grammar correction uses local translation loops (utilizing German, French, and Spanish models). All operations run 100% offline. Paraflow has no advertisements, analytics tracking, remote servers, or telemetric data collections.

5. Children's privacy

Paraflow is intended as a general-purpose voice dictation utility. The app does not manage accounts, collect personal credentials, or transmit data off-device, making it safe for all ages.

6. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to document new local options. Updated versions will be published on this webpage and outlined in the app's update release notes.
